Zpagetti Crochet pattern Square Baset

For this pattern You Need:

*1 ball of Yarn, (I use Ribbon XL, You can buy it here) or in My Etsy Shop. It is perfect for these baskets! But You can also use Zpagetti Yarn which You can buy in My Etsy shop.

If You use Ribbon XL, You need a crochet hook nr 6 (US size 10) When using Zpagetti Yarn use a hook nr 8 or 9.

hook nr 10. For the rest You will need a stitch marker, You can use a safety pin or a piece of yarn for this to, I use a clipper that’s normally for attaching keys, so be creative 😉

Also an XL needle with a round point to weave in the ends.

The finished basket will be about 15 cm x 15 cm

Make yourself a cup of tea, put on some soothing music and sit in Your favorite chair, Lets get started!

1. Make 3 chain st. and attach them together with a slip st.

2. Make 4 SC in the middle of the circle, and put Your stitch marker in the first SC You make.

3. Make 3 SC in each of the 4 stitches, replace the stitch marker. (12 st)

4. Make 1 SC in the next stick and replace the stitch marker. In the next stitch make 3 SC. (Make 1 SC in the next 2 stitches and 3 SC in the 3th)
Repeat ( ) another 2 times.
End the row with 1 SC (20 st)

5. Make a SC in the next 2 stitches, replace the stitch marker. Make 3 SC in the 3th stitch. (Make 1 SC in the next 4 stitches and 3 SC in the 5th.)
Repeat ( ) another 2 times.
End the row with a SC in the last 2 stitches (28 st)

6. Make a SC in the next 3 stitches, replace the stitch marker. Make 3 SC in the 4th stitch. (Make 1 SC in the next 6 stitches, make 3 SC in the 7th stitch.)
Repeat ( ) another 2 times.
End the row with a SC in the last 3 stitches. (36)

7. Make a SC in the next 4 stitches and 3 SC in the 5th stitch. (Make 1 SC in the next 8 stitches and make 3 SC in the 9th stitch) Repeat ( ) another 2 times.
End the row with a SC in the next 4 stitches. (44)

8. Make a SC in the next 5 stitches and 3 SC in the 6th stitch.
(Make a SC in the next 10 stitches and 3 SC in the 11th.)
Repeat ( ) another 2 times. End the row with a SC in the next 5 stitches. (52 st)

9. That was it for the base, lets go up!
Now We will make 1 SC in each of the 52 stitches but We will pick up only the back loop of the stitch so We get a line all around. This line is deciding the bottom of the basket with the sides,

At the 4 corners You crochet 2 stitches together, like this the basket will stand up more straight.

(48 st)

10. (Make a SC in each of the 48 stitches.) Repeat ( ) another 15 times.

11. Cut the tread and pass true the loop. Take the needle with a round nose, ship a stitch and pass it true the next stitch.

12. Go back to the first stitch and pass the needle down true the stitch, zig zag the rest of the yarn on the inside of Your basket.

16. Flip over the basket and tadaa! Ready 🙂 I like to sew in a little label, or if You make a lower basket that You don’t flip over, You can use it for bread, Make the base smaller or bigger, have fun with it!

Now go ahead and make them in all colors!!

Have Fun!

They are not very big , about 23 cm diameter and 12 cm high, but You can change the size easily! Just make the bottom smaller or larger and the sides as high You like! Have fun! Ilse 🙂

      Hi Jess, thank You!
If you like to make the basket bigger I would make the base bigger too, so after 5-3-10-3-10-3-10-3-5 You make 6- 3- 12-3…. and you keep making the base bigger until it has the size you like, and when it does you make one stitch in each stitch all around to go up. Have fun!! Ilse 🙂

Hi Jessica, at the moment I’m really short of time to make a video or more pictures, but You can start of by or making a magic loop and working the 6 stitches in the magic loop (google it there are many video’s!) or just crochet 3 stitches, join them with a slip stitch and work the 6 stitches in the middle of that round, hope I helped You a little,… 🙂

Hey I was wondering if that ruffle yarn you use for those ruffle scarves is the same kinda stuff or is it different from what you’re using? Thanks 🙂

Hi, love the baskets and thank you for sharing your pattern. I need specific colors for a baby shower, and am having a problem finding certain colors. Do you know of availability in the United States?
